The Sellouts are back to a five piece once more, we are delighted to welcome Ellis Place to our number.

Ellis is a long time friend and an excellent guitarist and singer, he will be providing rhythm guitar and backing vocals, with the occasional lead vocal.

Ellis has a wealth of experience in live performance and song writing, and the opportunity to join us was one he felt he could not miss.

Since Chinny left last year we have felt that the sound was somewhat lacking. We also feel that a new challenge is needed and bringing in Ellis should provide that sound and challenge.

New Set List

After touting the same old songs for what seems like an eternity, we have decided to wipe the slate clean and learn an entire new set list. We feel that although the songs in the current set list are great songs, we have become a bit complacent whilst playing them and we are losing the original feel and meaning of some of the songs.

We will be looking for new songs that provide us with a challenge both individually and as a band.

We can also look at songs with up to three guitar parts to take advantage of our newest member Ellis Place

The next time The Sellouts are plating live, expect to hear us play 20 to 30 excellent news songs.

If you have any idea’s or thoughts of what might be a good number for the band to learn, please get in touch and let us know

September Gigs

We would just like to say a big thank you to all of you who came to see the band during our 2 gigs this September.

The event at The Wharfeside was another rocking evening with a good attendance. We played a few new songs which we had learnt for another gig (see below) to try them out and they seemed to go down very well.

We also played a 60th birthday for Christine Healy at the Golcar Liberal Club. This was a departure to our normal type of gig as a fair few of the audience were a bit older than in our ‘pub’ gigs. The challenge to be entertaining while not being overly loud was welcome and we had to work really hard to achieve this.

Once again, thank you all for supporting The Sellouts
